Lakshya out of All England : The Tribune India

Lakshya Sen crashed out of the All England Open Championships after losing to Mark Caljouw in the quarterfinals here today. The world No. 36 from Netherlands beat the 28th-ranked Indian 21-17 16-21 21-17 in 55 minutes, thus ending the Indian challenge in men’s singles.

The women’s doubles pairing of Ashwini Ponnappa and N Sikki Reddy also bowed out of the tournament following their defeat to Netherlands’ Selena Piek and Cheryl Seinen in the quarterfinals. The 24th-ranked Dutchwomen beat the world No. 30 Indians 24-22 21-12 in 39 minutes.

The world No. 10 and sixth-seeded men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty had crashed out earlier. — PTI
